A Time to Sing
Original Pastel Painting 18” x 24”

A Time to Sing
A Time to Sing, the painting for 2004, depicts a Cochiti Singing Mother, which predates 1930, and was a predecessor to the storyteller figures. The rug is a Navaho weaving from the same period. The micaceous wedding vase from Taos is a later piece. This variety of textures and forms combines to present an early Native American story of song
